안녕하세요, 스톱모션코리아와 스톱모션 팬 여러분!
제 친구인 우찬을 통해서 새로 생긴 스톱모션코리아 웹사이트 소식과 한국의 스톱모션 팬들 및 작업자들이 공통의 관심사로 한데 뭉쳤는지에 대한 이야기를 듣게 되었습니다. 스톱모션코리아가 생기는 데에 참여한 모든 분들께 축하와 격려의 말을 전하고 싶습니다.
스톱모션 애니메이션은 오랜 시간 동안 그래왔듯 오늘날에도 없어서는 안 될 중요한 애니메이션 분야입니다. 물론 3D 컴퓨터 애니메이션이 업계를 계속 주도하고 있긴 하지만요. 제 생각에는 우리도 새로운 디지털 도구들을 사용할 수 있습니다. 이전보다 스톱모션 애니메이션을 더 잘 만드는 데 말입니다.
스톱모션코리아가 스톱모션을 사랑하는 모든 사람들이 서로 돕고 협력하는 커뮤니티로 성장하는 시발점이 될 수 있기를 바랍니다.
그리고 스톱모션이라는 멋진 애니메이션 형식이 한국에서도 건재하다는 얘기를 들어서 기쁩니다. 여러분들이 새롭고 멋진 스톱모션 작품을 창작하기를 바랍니다. 국제적인 애니메이션 페스티벌뿐만 아니라 TV 및 영화 프로덕션에서 한국 애니메이터들이 만든 스톱모션 애니메이션 작품을 더욱 자주 만날 수 있기를 기대하겠습니다.

Hello “Stopmotion Korea” and fans of stopmotion!
My friend Wuchan Kim told me about the new website and how Korean SM fans and practitioners are getting together in their common interests. I want to pass on my congratulations and encouragement to you all for taking this step. Stopmotion is as vital today as it has been for many years, even as 3D computer animation continues to dominate. From my perspective, the new digital tools are there for us as well – to help make stopmotion films even better than before.
I hope the website is the start of growing a community of SM enthusiasts that can help and support each other.
And I am glad to hear that this great form of animation is alive and well in Korea and I encourage you to create wonderful, new projects. I look forward to seeing more of these films in the international film festivals, as well as major TV and movie productions, from Korean animators.
